BBC 'Spotlight' programme on Ludlow murder

The murder of Co Louth man Seamus Ludlow by Loyalists thirty years ago was the subject of last night's 'Spotlight' programme on BBC.

Reporter Kevin Magee examined the case of Seamus Ludlow who was murdered in Dundalk in 1976.

The murder of the 47-year-old has been reopened by Gardai after four alleged suspects from north of the border were named in the Barron Report in the Dail in March this year.

Spotlight's investigation, led by Royal Television Society winning journalist Kevin Magee, showed the identities of the four suspects.

Two of Seamus Ludlow's sisters (L-R) Nan Sharkey and Eileen Fox appeared on the BBC 'Spotlight' programmeThe programme heard from members of Mr Ludlow's family who have been campaigning for a public enquiry.

Spotlight also talked to two retired members of the Gardai who were involved in the original investigation about the findings of the Barron Report. No one has ever been convicted of the murder.
